Rainer Beach is a grade-level Central Link Station located in the middle of Martin Luther King Jr. Way with a single island platform, just south of the station is a crossover between the tracks so trains in theory can be short-turned here. The island platform has one entrance at its northern end from the south sidewalk at the intersection of Henderson Street (in one plaza is Parable, a still-life sculpture resembling a bowl of pears, unphotographed). Entering the station, the first item that comes into view hanging above the gentle ramp up to the level of the relatively low platform is Dragonfly by Darlene Nguyen-Ely. It looks like an abstract overly large version of this bug. Then a glass enclosure is reached that covers the entire area between the tracks with glass awnings suspended over the walkways on each side of it. Here the TVMs and ORCA card targets are and the fare paid zone and platform begins.

The platform is simple with tall oversized columns holding up lampposts and the catenary in places. The middle of the platform has a simple glass canopy and low glass windscreens surrounding some benches for waiting passengers. Along the platform is Increment by Eugene Parnell, four bronze columns with reliefs depicting various measuring systems in the world. At the southern end of the platform is Flores, Fishombile, and Pinwheel, along the substation and service building located here. They form a large glass abstract mosaic on the wall of this building facing the platform.
