Salvin Hill is a station located on the Ashmont Brach of the Red Line after JFK-U Mass where the lines diverge but before their rights of way separate, although the railroad track used by commuter rail lines that follow the Braintree Branch is between the two branches, just beyond the stations single island platforms the lines finally diverge for the Braintree Branches 2.5 mile run to its next stop North Quincy. This stop was recently renovated and ADA compliant with the silvery structures typical of all the recently renovated red line stations. For access the stop has two entrances. One (at the northern end of the platform) is from Savin Hill Ave's overpass of all the subway tracks (the train tracks and I-93 that the station is along), its begins with an entrance structure on its southside sidewalk where the faregates are that becomes the station's mezzanine, with an elevator, up escalator and two staircases down to the platform. This mezzanine in the middle of the platform ends with a sharp right to another set of faregates and a staircase and elevator down to Sydney St and a small parking lot.
