Symphony
The Symphony Station consists of two separate stations each for trains in their respective directions because each track is on eitherside of Huntington Avenue's underpass of Massachusetts Avenue. The entire piece of infrastructure (underpass and subway) is relatively new (compared to the Tremont Subway) opening in 1941 as a Works Progress Administration Project. The single platform for each direction has a single fare control area with some faregates in their middles directly on the platforms that lead to 2 staircases to each (4 total) of the SW and NW corners of the Massachusetts Avenue and local lanes of Huntington Avenue (that do not go through the underpass) intersection from outbound trains. Inbound trains have just two street stairs to the NE and SE corners. These each are set back from the street in little plazas in front of buildings. The station walls are simple white walls with a green trimline
