Mastic-Shirley Station began service on July 7, 1960 and replaced the former Mastic Station located one mile east. The station has a simple white station house with green trim and short green porches. According to the LIRR website as of 2021, this waiting room is never open. TVMs are in their own shelter outside the platform. Just east of the depot is a four car late-1900s platform that begins with a ramp by the depot and has a single green and cream shelter on it for waiting passengers. This platform and the depot lead out to a decently sized free parking lot leading to Northern Blvd to the south and bounded by William Floyd Parkway that crosses the tracks at the western end of the station parking lot, and closer to where trains used to stop when it was a low-level platform before the late 1990s installation of a high-level platform.
