Centre Avenue is a simple, yet poorly designed LIRR Long Beach Branch Train that lacks a station house. The stop consists of two normal 1970s side platforms with silver fencing that can accommodate 10 cars. The only amenities for waiting passengers are a few silver bus stop style shelters but no canopies. Each platform has a single entrance via a staircase or a ramp from the Centre Avenue grade crossing at its northern end and runs south. The TVMs are along the entrance walkway to the westbound platform. Lester Drive dead ends at an apartment complex directly alongside the Long Beach-bound platform but there is no way to access the platform, Google deceptively gives this as the station location (and your webmaster on a walk to photograph the station assumed there would be an entrance here). Conversely 3rd Street dead ends at the southern end of the New York-bound platform, should have an entrance but doesn't. The station has a tiny bit of parking a full block north of the station around Rocklyn Avenue and Forest Avenue.
