The station is an important bus connection point for points farther east, no subway lines continue out into eastern Queens. There isn't a proper bus loop (most buses start at the 165 Street bus terminal, not close to any current subway station) but bus stops line each side of Hillside Avenue, with each route having a separate stop, which staircase to exit for each bus route is well marked
