Racine is a Blue Line Station located in the median of the Eisenhower Expressway. Before April 25, 2008 when all Blue Line Service to 54/Cermark was discontinued, this stop was the last station served by both Harlem and 54/Cermark-bound trains. Just west of this station at Loomis Junction the two tracks that lead up to the Douglas Branch rise up onto an elevated trestle and become a regular elevated railway joining the Pink Line tracks (on the Paulina connector) just over the Paulina Street entrance to Illinois Medical District. The station has the standard island platform with a canopy covering its entire length and continuing up the gradual ramps to the station houses exits at each end of the platform, both of these exits are still fully open with regular turnstiles, and have blue tiled walls. The western end is to Loomis Street (the name of the junction) and the eastern one leads up to the namesake Racine Street.
