Hamilton is a single-tracked light rail station located on an elevated bridge built for trains to pass over wide Hamilton Avenue (more of a boulevard) not at a grade. The UP track the light rail follows doesn't ride up onto an overpass and still crosses at a grade-crossing under the station. The single platform is along the east side of the line. It has a simple side platform with textured concrete walls and built in benches of soft stones designed by Barb McKee designed to reflect the wildlife found in the nearby Los Gatos Creek. There is also a standard cream-colored canopy structure that covers an information panel and two sets of wind-screened benches. To leave the platform at the northern end is a short pedestrian bridge with arched walls over the freight track before a staircase (that splits into two staircases midway) and a glass elevator shaft lead down to Hamilton Plaza, the name of the little entrance plaza for the station that is at the SW corner of Hamilton Avenue and Creekside Way.
