70th Street is one of the four newest trolley stations which created the Green Line when they opened with the Mission Valley Extension on July 8, 2005. The station has two modern side platforms each with 3, two smaller, one larger green canopies held up by silver posts. The station has artwork (I only photographed the plaque in Spanish) by Nina Karavasiles with quotations about the the philosophy of ecology. The station benches are green and held up by little rock formations. All lampposts are grey and modern The station is located just east of where Alvarado Road meanders it's way across the trolley tracks. Tucked in alongside the Old Town-bound platform is a bus loop serving 3 buses. The Santee-bound platform has the station's 129 space park & ride lot.
