I got back to Los Angeles (for the wedding I mentioned in the first LA Metro Notice) and Did a Station-to -Station of the Expo Line so this section is now fully complete (not just for a few hours as before) for at least a few years until Metro finishes the Foothill Extension of the Gold Line or Phase 2 of the Expo line both scheduled for Late 2016.

Today Jeremiah Cox/the SubwayNut is proud to announce that every presently open Metro Rail Station on 72 individual station pages have now been written and completed with about 1,200 photos. I realize that in less than 16 hours this section will be out of date since the Expo Line with ten new stations opens tomorrow. I had hoped the Expo Line would be open when I was last in L.A. in February but like many rail projects the opening had been delayed slightly. I don't plan to return to Los Angeles until June 2013 (to attend a wedding) so it will take over a year for this section of the SubwayNut to be complete again except for this evening. I had considered walking/taking buses along the route of the Expo Line to photograph the incomplete stations (and trains being tested) on my last trip to Los Angeles but visiting as many Metrolink Stations as I could became a priority. I have and am still debating if all of the Orange Line Metro Liner stations deserve visiting and photo essays for the scope of this website since the Bus Rapid Transit Line is almost exclusively on a private ROW with real stations that include canopies (not just extra large bus shelters and artwork). Visiting Metrolink Stations again took priority over this project. Perhaps I'll photograph the Orange Line in the future. Enjoy the impressive stations (all have artwork) of this five line transit system that includes the Nation's newest Subway and busiest modern Light Rail Line.
